PHF approach focuses on transforming mind shifts and empowering girls. We believe that if we tackle the discriminatory perceptions, attitudes and practices that underpin and condone violence against women; and if we equip young women and girls with the tools, skills and knowledge to challenge patriarchal structures; we will create an environment in which girls’ can exercise their agency to challenge the status quo, resist abuse, and discrimination; this we do in the most safe place of peer to peer intervention.
The girl’s empowerment and Innovation village which was set in the island district of Kalangala is an investment in girls’ economic empowerment which has set a direct path towards gender equality, poverty eradication and inclusive economic growth.
